Duties and Responsibilities:
  DUTIES: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Geographic Information Science and Technologies (GIS), and develop new courses that complement and strengthen the GIS curriculum. Conduct research complementing the existing departmental strengths. Areas of specialization in the GIS technologies may include, but are not limited to: geospatial cyber-infrastructure, cloud computing, social media, spatial data mining, geospatial big data analytics, mobile mapping, 3D GIS, geovisualization, or related areas. Advise undergraduate and graduate students; publish scholarly, peer-reviewed research; seek extramural funding; engage in departmental, university, professional and community activities. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. by time of hire in Geography or allied field from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalent with specialization in Geographic Information Science and Technologies. Significant research accomplishments (publications, grants) commensurate with time in the field. Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment. Ability to interact with faculty, staff, and students in a productive and professional manner.
